Understanding & Controlling Allergies
Allergies and their annoying side effects
such as seasonal sinus irritation, ear, nose, and throat infections,
gastrointestinal upset, headaches, fatigue, make up the single most common
reason we visit doctors.
It is estimated that more than
50 million people suffer from various forms of allergies, from simple
seasonal rhinitis to serious, potentially life endangering, allergic
reactions to specific proteins. With this number of sufferers, a discussion
of allergies is certainly timely.
There is a tremendous amount of
mis-information regarding what allergies are, and more importantly, how they
should be managed. Antihistamines from the doctor are just one route. They
work well for some users but also have a variety of side effects. For many,
antihistamines are not very effective.
This booklet will discuss not
only the cause of allergies, but a variety of alternative methods for their
management as well.
Since most allergies are immune,
or more specifically, autoimmune in origin, no one can, as of yet, offer a
cure. What we can do is help you understand the condition and show you how
you can help your body manage the allergic response with a minimum
compromise to your health.
