Green tea, the oldest form, contains biochemical compounds called
polyphenols, which include flavonoids.
Flavonoids are antioxidants, which prevent cell damage thought to
contribute to more than 50 illnesses.
Green tea contains the flavonoid EGCg, a potent antioxidant.

water extracted, produced from fresh leaves that are chopped, rolled, and
quickly steamed, a process that retains polyphenols.
Jarrow?s green tea consists of 50% polyphenols, including 33%
catechins. Catechins are flavan monomers, the building blocks of OPCs.
OPCs, OligoProanthoCyanidins, are polymers (or chains) of flavans.
Catechins are generally more bioavailable and more potent an
antioxidant than proanthocyanidins. The top quality green tea
(Camellia sinesis) in Jarrow?s products is from Zhejiang, China?s
leading tea growing region, and has been inspected by the Ministry of
Agriculture.
