• Joint support for dogs and cats.
• Glucosamine Sulfate contains 500 mg of glucosamine sulfate and is recommended for cats and dogs to support joint and connective tissue function and health.
• Ultra Glucosamine contains the three forms of glucosamine: D-glucosamine HCl, N-Acetyl glucosamine and D-glucosamine sulfate along with magnesium, potassium sulfate, calcium ascorbate, and silicon for connective tissue and joint support in dogs.
• Recommended to support:
¤ Tissue or joint function
¤ Synovial fluid and joints health
¤ Recovery after injury or surgery
¤ Elbow and hip function where increased need is indicated and where there is a loss of elasticity to intervertebral discs
¤ Damage or injury of muscles or connective tissue
• Glucosamine is necessary to support and maintain joints and connective tissues, which may have been impacted by injury, illness, wear and tear or aging. A shortage of Glucosamine may lead to deterioration of the normal function of synovial fluid, connective tissues, joints, and muscles.
• There are several forms of Glucosamine (D-glucosamine, N-Acetyl glucosamine and D-glucosamine sulfate) that can play a biologically active role in maintaining proper joint and connective tissue function and in the synthesis of connective tissue.
¤ Glucosamine Sulfate helps the glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) hold more water and thereby increase joint flexibility, cushioning ability, and resiliency.
¤ Glucosamine HCl is part of many large macromolecules which serve as structural elements in cell walls, intercellular spaces and connective tissues such as cartilage, tendons, ligaments, and intervertebral discs.
¤ N-Acetyl Glucosamine supports the production of glycoproteins to strengthen the structural integrity and healthy function of various glycoprotein layers throughout the body (such as those found in the digestive, genito-urinary, and respiratory tracts).
• Glucosamine is used by chondrocytes to produce GAGs (such as hyaluronic acid and chondroitin sulfates), proteoglycans, and other components of cartilage that give the joint fluid greater elasticity, shock resistance and lubricating power.
• Glucosamine is a natural building block of the connective tissues that help support and hold together the ligaments, tendons, bones and cartilage in the body. Glucosamine helps maintain the thick, gelatinous nature of the fluids and tissues in and around the joints and in between vertebrae.
