Shark Discovery™ is made from 100% pure freeze/vacuum dried shark cartilage (without use of chemicals).
Sharks are unique in that they have a cartilaginous skeleton. This unique skeleton consists of a high concentration of glycosaminoglycans and a special macro protein that inhibits angiogenesis. Angiogenesis is the process by which new blood vessels are formed. After surgery in
puppies & kittens and during pregnancy this process is essential. However, in adults, angiogenesis can be a sign of an abnormal
condition.
Shark Discovery™ contains this angiogenesis inhibitor which will block or hinder the blood supply to abnormal growths. It is carefully processed so that we can guarantee that the angiogenesis inhibitor is present and bioavailable.
Due to label requirements, most shark cartilage preparations on the market will list the protein percentage of their shark cartilage. However, this can be misleading because the percentage of protein does not reflect the level of the very important macro-protein (angio genesis inhibitor) in shark cartilage. The CAM (Chicken Chorioallantoic Membrane) assay is the only way for you to be sure the
angiogenesis inhibitor is present in the shark cartilage.
The shark cartilage in Shark Discovery™ is from New Zealand where the cartilage is sold as the by-product of the fishing industry. We do not purchase cartilage from suppliers that would cull shark just for their cartilage.
Warnings:
€ Use this product with caution in animals with a history of clotting disorders, diabetes, metabolic disorders associated with
hyperglycemia, urinary tract stones and allergies to shellfish.
€ It should not be used for puppies, kittens, pregnant and lactating bitches or queens, or if an animal has had recent damage to the heart muscle or has had surgery in the past two weeks. All of these conditions need the production of new blood vessels and the inhibitor in Shark Discovery™ would prevent this necessary function from happening.
€ For surgeries, that involve cutting into vascular tissue or a body cavity (chest or abdomen), its best to wait 2 to 4 weeks to allow for good vascular healing before using the product.
Directions For Use:
Capsules
Initial (3 - 4 weeks): Give 1 capsule per 10 lbs of body weight, daily.
Maintenance: Give 1 capsule per 20 lbs of body weight. If less than 20 lbs, give 1 capsule every other day.
Powder
Initial (3 - 4 weeks): Give 1 scoop per 10 lbs of body weight, daily.
Maintenance: Give 1 scoop per 20 lbs of body weight, daily. If under 20 lbs, give 1/2 scoop daily.
