checkout is caused by a problem with Internet Explorer. Unfortunately, Microsoft has not yet issued the fix to this problem as an automatic Windows update. This means that the currently available fix is one which will require users to manually install it into their Internet Explorer browsers. While it is unclear exactly when the fix will be made available in an automatic update, it's at least more likely that it will when a new service pack update is released.
Here's some background material that Microsoft has posted regarding the problem: Overview Click on currently available fix to download and install the recommended patch. Retry the above step if Microsoft displays the following message: The download you requested is unavailable. If you continue to see this message when trying to access this download, you might try the "Search for a Download" area on the Download Center home page.
