Q:  What are the "standard" steps to shopping?

A:  Most steps to shopping involve the Store Function Bar or Navigation bar (detail description given in Section II, below)
(1) "Search" /  browse to item The first step to shopping is to find your item (this is done by either using the "Search" function or, just navigating around the different product categories or lists).  Product items and/or pictures almost always link directly to the store description and price page.  It is on this page that you can
(2) enter quantity and "add to basket"
 Once you enter your quantity and click "add to basket", you should check to make sure that the correct quantity and item are actually in your shopping basket.  You can check by

Clicking on "Basket Contents"
  You can change quantities in the "Basket Contents" display window.  Then, if you have more items to shop for, go back to step (1) above.  Otherwise, you are ready to "CheckOut" and pay for your items.  To do this,
(4) Click "Checkout"
 This will take you thru a  4 step checkout process:

Create user name or login 2) Enter/confirm  shipTo / BillTo 3) Select Payment/Shipping Options 4) Pay for the item

Q:  How do I change the contents in the shopping basket?

A:  Click on the "Basket Contents" link in the dark green (or black) bar about 1" down from the top of page.  You can update quantity and/or remove item(s). 

Q: Do I have to set up an "Account" to make a purchase?

A: Setting up an account makes it easier for future purchase.  Setting up a new account will remember you and your contact (only)  information:  name, address, phone number, etc  NO credit card information is stored in you account (aka username) record.  If you don't want to set up an account, when you "CheckOut" you have the option to "Place Order Without Account"  The only difference is that the name/address information you enter will not be "remembered" and if you order again in the future, you'll have to re-enter the needed ship-to, ship-to and bill-to information.

Q: Do I need to LOGIN before shopping?

A:  Normally, "NO" (you'll be prompted to enter your username when you check-out and make payment).  If we have specifically requested (by email or phone) that you log in BEFORE doing any shopping, you'll log in by clicking on the "Account" link and then enter your username / password in the fields provided.  Again, most users do NOT need to login to their account (specify username/password) until the "Checkout" phase when the online store requests a "login" username / password.

Q: Will I receive a receipt?

A:  Yes.  The last step of the ordering process will send you an email confirmation of your order (at the email address you supplied earlier in the order placement section).  Also, after the payment has been verified, a browser "Invoice" page will display.

Q: What is the fastest way to shop?

A: You need to FIND your items first, and the fastest way to do this is to use one of our store "Search" functions.  The "Search" page gives you two options for searching:  1) the first search box is really fast if you have a single word or the numeric part of our store product identifier, and 2) a second search box for multi-word, more complex search of our site.  When searching, enter your word(s)  (e.g. "saw palmetto", or just "palmetto" ). Please do NOT use the quotes in your search!  The search returns a list of items that match your search terms. Each list item will have a product id link (for more information and ordering).

When you click on the item picture or product ID line, you'll be taken to the item description page.  Just enter the quantity you want and click on the "Add To Basket" button next to the quantity field.  Verify your basket contents with the "Basket Contents" link in the store function bar (dark green/black store function bar about 1" down from the top). Then click "Checkout".

Q: I can't find the "Checkout" function.. where is it?

The "Checkout"  link is the rightmost store function in the Store Function Bar or Navigation bar ( the dark green/black box about 1" down from the top of the store page). Depending on your browser, and the page you are displaying, you might have to scroll to the far right of the page to find it in the Store Function Bar.

Q: I can't find the "Continue" button (or "Save" button)  where is it?

The "Continue" or "Save" button is usually found on pages where you are entering either your shipping/billing address information or during the "Checkout" process when you are going from one step of the process to the next.  When either of these two buttons are used, please scroll to the far right of the page.  The "Continue" or "Save" button can be found on the far right of the page, directly below the area where you have filled out the form fields, NOT at bottom of page.

Q: What forms of payment do you take?

A: At this time, we accept American Express, Discover Card, Master Card, Visa, PayPal, Postal Money Orders and Checks.  Full payment information (such as where to send the checks / money orders, etc) is given on the page where you make the payment selection.

Q: Tell me more about shipping options and free shipping..

A: Free shipping on nutritional products is (generally) offered where the order total for products is $75.00 or more.  We try to make clear on the page where shipping options are selected that FREE shipping applies to orders  over $75.00 AND LESS THAN 5 LB. AND located in continental US. (outlying states, territories and possessions with US zip codes can use "flat rate"  option or UPS if purchases don't work with "flat rate").  Customers must SELECT the FREE shipping option to receive it (our store software does not compute shipping automatically and it is up to the customer to select the appropriate option.)  Base rates on shipping are exactly that (we will contact you if the actual cost of shipping is more than the base rate).  Don't overlook our bargain basement shipping cost of $4.98 for orders that are light weight and small (eg a single bottle of a tablet or capsule form).

Q: Where can I find out more about your store policies?

A: We have an extensive description of the store policies and use of our web site on a page termed "Terms of Use Agreement".   If you order is an International order, we suggest that you read the Terms of Use Agreement as well as our store page on International Orders

Q: What is the difference between the "main" web site and the "store"?

A:  Our main website contains many types of information including helpful links, news, etc.; our online store is just a part of the main website.

How can you tell the difference?  .. Look at the colored bar at the top of the page (if it says something like "Click This Bar For On-Line Shopping", you are in the main website).   If the colored bar shows store functions (such as "Store Front", "Account", etc.), you are already in the online store and can shop for items.

To get to the main website, you should be able to click on the yellow flower (a St. John's Wort flower).  The flower appears in the online store navigation bar, at the top of almost every page, and in the footer of almost every page.  To return to the store, click on the colored bar at the top of page which says "Click This Bar For On-Line Shopping".

II. Store Function / Horizontal Navigation Bar:

When you are in our online store, you will see the following navigation bar at the top of the page:

For those familiar with online shopping, our store is organized with the store activities (functions) represented as buttons in a top banner of every store page. 

The store buttons (their names and what they do):

The  is our website icon.  Clicking on this picture will take you out of the store and bring up the home page of our egetbetter.com website.

The "Store Front" button takes you to the first (home) page of our online store.  You will find featured products, special offers, store news, special links and instructions, etc.

The "Account" button can be used to log in for returning customers or to create a new account (for returning customers).  If you just wish to shop, proceed with selecting your items and putting them in the shopping basket.  When you click on "Checkout", you will be asked to login or create a new account (see more under "Checkout", below).

Our "Search" button helps you find things in our store.  We have added some special (non-Miva) search functionality that really improves on finding products.  The search result is very much like Google or many of the other search engines (you are presented with a list of hyperlinks with the most likely candidates presented topmost in the list).  Since our entire web site is indexed, pages from the main website may also appear in the search results list.  To ensure that you go to an online store entry, verify that the link text contains "Merchant2/merchant.mvc",e.g. http://egetbetter.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?..

A "Product List" button lists all products in our store.  The "Product List" is set up to display ALL products in the store, along with icons.  If you have a slow dial-up connection, this choice should be avoided!

"Basket Contents" gives you the current state of your shopping cart (basket) contents.

One of the key buttons on the store's function bar is the "Checkout" button.  Note that you may have to use your browser's horizontal scroll bar to see this button on the far right of the store's dark green function bar.  Clicking on the "Checkout" button will bring up a screen which prompts you to Login (or create a new account); if you are already logged in, your basket contents will be displayed and your "bill to" "ship to" information will be displayed.  Log in if you already have an account with us.. in this way, you will avoid having to re-enter your billing/shipping contact information.  If you are new to our website, we recommend that you create an account (username) so that it will be much easier the next time you order:  just click on the "Create New Account".  For those who do not want to set up an account, you can click the "Place Order Without An Account" button.

 

III. Page Layout Comments:

Note that sometimes, especially if you have a reduced size browser window or larger font settings, there are important navigation buttons which will not be seen unless you scroll horizontally to the right.  This is especially true of the "Create New Account" page where the "Save" button is at the bottom of the page on the far right.  You might possibly encounter this condition when in the product list (the "Next") button appears on the far bottom right.

Also,  when displayed in the store, products displayed as a single product contain a quantity field and an "Add To Basket" button.  If you wish to order more than one, update the quantity field and click the "Add To Basket" button.  Then either "Checkout" or click "Basket Contents" to confirm your selection.

Products displayed as a list:

Online store product information displayed as a list of items contains an "Add One to Basket" and "Buy One Now".  Choosing the first option leaves you where you are in the list; choosing the "Buy One Now" immediately takes you to the checkout process.

The picture and product codes in a product list have hyperlinks which will take you to the product for more information and buying options.

Products displayed as a single item:

When you select a specific product (by code or icon or hyperlink from a search tool) information will be displayed with a brief product title, its price and weight in pounds, a brief description and finally an information frame. This information frame typically has its own horizontal and vertical scroll bar (in addition to the main page scroll bars).  This can be confusing at first, but easy to manage once you get used to it.  Also, depending on how the information can be fit into the information frame, one or both of the information scroll bars may not appear.

If you are not in the online store and are brought to our web site (maybe from a search engine or outside link), product information may not appear with a website navigation banners.  In these instances, there's a narrow (1/4") horizontal green bar at the top of the product description to navigate into the online store.  Note that this small green bar also appears when you view a specific product in the store.  If you are already in the online store, disregard the extra small green navigation banner (it is redundant).

 

IV. How to use our Search options:

 

SINGLE WORD / PRODUCT CODE# LOOKUP:

This search function is best used for simple searches on single, very specific key words or product names as listed in our store. It is also very effective for finding  product codes or partial codes.  For example, you could search for 15052 to find L-Carnosine (actual product code is B-JFI-15052-LCAR).  Or, you could use carnosine.

This search option is great for re-ordering products since you know the product code and all you have to do is enter the numeric part of the code and you'll find your product. Just find your product, add it to your basket.  When you are done, click on "Basket Contents" to verify the information; then click on "Checkout" to complete your purchase.

When the search is complete, your browser is set back to top of page and you have to scroll back down to just BELOW the search tool for the search results.

Search results allow you to:

go to the item for more information (click on the thumbnail product picture or click on the product code)

add it to your shopping basket, or

buy 1 now (i.e. this is the only thing you're interested in and you want to buy it now.

 

SEARCH SITE CONTENT:

We have implemented Google's Custom search for eGetBetter.com.  This search is very much like the regular full-web search, except that it only searches our eGetBetter.com site.  The benefit of using this search is that it includes our entire site (i.e. content pages and other information which is not part of our online store).

VII.  Order options: (for shipping and payment): requested in the 2nd step of CheckOut

Shipping options

    We provide a variety of shipping and payment options for our customers.  Shipping options are selected by the customer during the Check-Out phase (after entering the shipping and billing contact and address information).  Because of the system set-up, the "default" shipping option is "A", for vitamins and supplements < 2.0 lb.  To select a different shipping option, simply click inside the box where the default shipping option is shown and a complete list will be displayed.  The appropriate option should be selected based on the type of product(s) purchased, how quickly the customer wants those products and where the customer resides (continental US, North America, or International).  Shipping options appear as an option list in the Checkout phase of ordering.

For typical orders ( vitamins and supplements weighting <2 lb), shipping is $6.75 for the continental US.

Some special shipping prices ($4.98) are offered for specific Phoenix Nutritionals products often used by curves, simple steps, and other fitness and weight loss programs. These products are typically dry in nature and light weight (<1.0 lb).

Also, there is FREE shipping on continental US vitamin/supplement orders totaling OVER $75.00 and weighing < 5.0 lb

    For international shipping, we have designated some countries / regions  for USPS Airmail Letter (4 lb max with items fitting into a small box) which provides the least expensive way to ship (there is no tracking and the delivery takes 7-12 days).   Once we receive your order, we will respond with an email requesting confirmation of delivery address and agreement to our terms regarding international shipping.  Where USPS Airmail is not provided as an option, INTERNATIONAL Air Express via UPS can be used.  This option is fast (usually 2-3 days), insurable and traceable.  Also, the customer should read our  "Terms-of-Use Agreement" where complete details can be found on our international shipping policy and procedures.

    Customers purchasing glass, antiques or gifts should select "K. Gifts&Glass -- Amount Approved By Cust. After Sale .. $0.00" since there are so many variables with shipping these glass, antiques, etc.,  we cannot pre-program the shipping costs into our online system.  So, just select option "K" and we will notify after the sale with the shipping costs.  Once we receive your approval of the shipping charges, we will charge your credit card for the amount due.  The charge will appear as a separate charge on your credit card statement.

Payment Options

    Payment options are selected on the same page as shipping options.  Because of the system set-up, the "default" payment option is American Express.  To select a different payment option, simply click inside the box where the default payment option is shown and a complete list will be displayed.  The customer then selects the appropriate payment option.  For payment options, we accept
