Glucosamine is a compound widely
studied as a chondro-protective agent.
Chondrocytes are special cells found throughout the cartilage matrix,
where they produce collagen and proteoglycans (one of the main components of
cartilage).
Glucosamine has gained wide
recognition as a highly effective nutrient for the support and maintenance
of healthy cartilage and joints.
Glucosamine Sulfate (GS) is an
aminomonosaccharide comprised of glucose and glutamine.
Glucosamine is an essential component of and stimulant to the
synthesis of proteoglycans, the building blocks of connective tissue and
articular cartilage. Sulfur is
also utilized in the production of cartilage tissue.
